The AE Awards project includes a series of unit standards based workshops for the staff at AE providers that lead to the full accreditation of a provider for the AE Awards project, once the majority of their staff have completed the two series. All of the workshops lead to credit towards the National Diploma in Youth Work (level 6) and will in turn lead into credit for the new degree in youth development which is currently being developed by the Social Services ITO. The delivery of the workshops is linked to the TOHU project (in association with the National Youth Workers Network)
This series of three short workshops will introduce: models of youth development, needs assessment and creating individual development plans with young people in AE centres. The workshops are spaced a few weeks apart from each other to give participants time to put each step into practice before learning about the next one. The final workshop will introduce teaching using coaching approaches and the assessment of unit standards. The series will be offered to a minimum of eight people at a time, and leads to the achievement of 27 credits towards the 200 required for the National Diploma in Youth Work.
This is a three day workshop that focuses on connecting with a young person in crisis and working for their restoration in community (rather than clinical) settings. The Response Abilities Pathways (RAP) workshop is based on the Circle of Courage curriculum (more info at www.reclaiming.com) and includes the assessment of a further 24 credits towards the National Diploma.
The Series 1 workshop runs on demand (based on a minimum number) If you can find enough interested people we will run the series in your area.
Cost: Your joining fee covers up to 4 people from your team to attend the three Learning and Teaching workshops in Series 1. This includes reporting results to NZQA. There is an aditional charge of $112.50 for those who want to enrol in the National Diploma through the TOHU Project.
The RAP workshop is charged seperately, please check the TOHU Project link to find out more about dates, costs and the nearest location.
