What will I learn?

The course will focus on building practical skills, knowledge of issues facing young people, and your personal development, in your faith and as a leader.
Each block course will include lectures, practical work and small group discussions. The course is set at an equivalent to level 4 on the New Zealand Qualifications framework, and is a good lead into further study at diploma or degree level.

The subjects will be taught by experienced youth workers from around the Pacific and New Zealand. Some subjects you will learn about include:

• How to operate safely as a youth worker
• How to develop programmes and activities with young people
• Issues facing young people across the Pacific
• Principles for youth development
• Becoming an effective leader
• Introduction to youth counselling
