Withdrawals and Refunds

A deposit of $200 is required when you enrol (your enrolment cannot be completed until it is paid).

This should be paid with your course application form. If you are declined from the course it will be refunded in full. If you decide to withdraw, the deposit is refundable in full up until 8 days after the course has started, as long as you notify Praxis in writing. Your full fees are due eight days after the start of the course, and cannot be paid before then.

You should advise your course co-ordinator if you intend to apply for a student loan, as this may take a little longer. All fees that remain unpaid eight weeks after the start date of the course attract a $100 surcharge.

As soon as you are accepted for the course (if you have been accepted we will send you a letter that you can take to WINZ) you should apply for Student Allowance. This will ensure that there is no delay in getting paid once you start.

If you decide to withdraw from the course during the year you must fill out a Course Withdrawal Form which is available from Praxis, and which will be forwarded to Whitireia Community Polytechnic. Once the Polytech receives the form any refund due will be calculated and actioned by the Polytech, based on the following policies: a full refund of tuition fees will be made if you withdraw within two weeks of the start of the course. 80% of tuition fees will be refunded if you withdraw between 2 and 4 weeks from the start of course. Refunds after this time will be at the discretion of the Polytech.
