The Year TWO programme is designed to provide maximum flexibility and enable you to shape your learning around your other commitments. Weekly small group (cluster) meetings, are an important part of each paper and attendance is a requirement for completing the paper for credit. If you can’t access cluster groups in person, you will need access to broadband internet to use Skype group phone calls.
The year will start with a welcome and orientation in the first week (Feb 2009), this event is a requirement for all full time students. Subject to interest and space on the programme, there will also be a mid year intake at the start of the July block of workshops (which will also include an orientation for all new students).
It is possible to access the 2nd Year part time. Part time students must complete the course within 5 years from starting-which means you will need to complete 2-3 ‘modules’ per year. You pay per module when you enrol, and will not be eligible to apply for student loans or allowances if you are doing less than a full time course in any one year
If you have completed equivalent papers (in Mission, Social Services or Development Studies at level 5 or above) through other institutions, you can apply to have up to three of your Selected Studies papers credited through Recognition of Prior learning. Contact the course coordinator to begin this process.
Up to three papers from a recognised Bible/Theological college can be used towards seven of the Selected Study papers required for Year TWO. Each paper must be at an equivalent level (level 5 or above) and size (at least 8 credits) to Praxis papers. Please discuss this option with the Year Two Course Coordinator if you wish to study a mixture of papers.
Other regulations for the Diploma are outlined in the Student Handbook. A copy of this will be available to you on the Praxis website once you complete enrolment.
