The Year TWO programme is designed to provide maximum flexibility and enable you to shape your learning around your other commitments. Weekly small group (cluster) meetings, are an important part of each paper and attendance is a requirement for completing the paper for credit. If you can’t access cluster groups in person, you will need access to broadband internet to use Skype group phone calls.
The year will start with a welcome and orientation in the first week (Feb 2009), this event is a requirement for all full time students. Subject to interest and space on the programme, there will also be a mid year intake at the start of the July block of workshops (which will also include an orientation for all new students).
Part time students must complete the course within 5 years from starting -which will mean completing at least 2-3 papers per year. Choose which papers you want to do in the coming year and enrol in them before each block. You pay per paper when you enrol, and will not be eligible to apply for student loans and allowances.
If you have completed equivalent papers (in Mission, Social Services or Development Studies at level 5 or above ) through other institutions, you can apply to have up to two of your Selected Studies papers credited through Recognition of Prior Learning. Contact the Course Coordinator to begin this process.
Up to three papers from a recognised Bible/Theological college can be used towards seven of the Selected Study papers required for Year TWO. Each paper must be at an equivalent level (level 5 or above) and size (at least 8 credits) to Praxis papers. Please discuss this option with the Year Two Course Coordinator if you wish to study a mixture of papers.
Other regulations for the Diploma are outlined in the Student Handbook. A copy of this will be available to you on the Praxis website once you complete enrolment.
