The following modules are also available on request. If you have a group of 10 or more people you know would like to do any of the following please contact us (diploma@praxis.org.nz)  to arrange a time and place:

Social Service Contracting

An introduction to the ethics, legalities and management of government-funded service contracts, and their impact on community and mission organisations.

Drug and Alcohol Support Services

An overview of current theory and discussion of the role of youth and community workers alongside other professional services as community educators and in support of people with addictions. 

Justice Making 

A biblical outline of justice and shalom as guiding principles and proceeds to examine the churches attempts to build a society that is more just , more respectful of the earth, more sustainable and more participative with special attention given to non-violent means of resistance. 

Community Gardens as Development Practice 

A ‘hands on’ case study approach to using community gardens as a context for community building. 

Abseiling 

Gain the skills to take people through abseiling setups, manage sites and possible risks. This is for those with some prior experience

Adventure Therapy Techniques 

Using outdoor activities as a starting point you will learn to apply a variety of therapeutic principles.

Incarnational Mission Across Cultures 

Join a team to either Manila or Samoa and live with a poor family for a couple of weeks in order to gain a better understanding of yourself, you world and the marginalized
