Alt School Intern - Porirua and Wellington City

Applications are now open for an internship at one of the Praxis Alt Schools in 2021. This is an opportunity to study towards a level 4 or 6 qualification in youth work while you work part-time as a member of the Alt team.

We will have vacancies in Porirua and at City Alt (Wellington) for interns in 2021. Interested? Please follow these steps:

Raurimu Avenue School - Mentor / Teacher Aide

We are looking for a full time (30hours a week) mentor/Teacher Aide for our small school in Onerahi. The position involves supporting and mentoring a small group of boys at our school. Is this something that your organisation may be able to help us with? I was given your organisation name by an adult mentoring service and am hoping you may be able to help.

Praxis Educator - Wellington

We are looking for an amazing person to join the Wellington team later this year, and help deliver the Praxis course in 2021. This is a part time role, it will involve mentoring a small group of Praxis students and organising profound learning experiences for them. Over 2021 the role could develop toward responsibility for leading a team of Educators.

Praxis Educator - Auckland

We are looking for an equally amazing person to join the Auckland team. We have part time work for one day per week effectively immediately, this will develop into two days per week from the end of this year. This role will involve mentoring a small group of Praxis students and organising profound learning experiences for them.

The right people will:

Have significant practical experience and a qualification in youth work. Be passionate about investing in the next generation of youth workers. Have a big heart and a well organised mind.

St. Mary's Anglican church - Halswell

Youth leader/Youth Worker


St. Mary's Anglican church in Halswell needs a youth leader to develop our growing youth group. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping young teens know Jesus and grow in spiritual and social maturity. This is a paid position starting Term 4, 2020. 8-10 hours per week: negotiable hours of work and you will have a small committed adult support team. Drivers license and first aid certificate required. It would be preferred that you attend our church.
